📣 Summer STEM Soars: FAD Camp Sees 42% Growth in 2025! 🚀✈️

This summer, the Flight Adventure Deck (FAD) Summer Camp took learning to new heights—literally! Hosted at the Naval Aviation Museum and taught by certified educators alongside Naval Officers, campers explored the wonders of flight, space, and science through hands-on activities, immersive tours, and flight simulation training.

In 2025, FAD Summer Camp participation increased by 42% over 2024, thanks in part to the exciting addition of two new specialty programs: the Scout Merit Badge Camp and Space Exploration Camp, which joined our already-popular FAD Aviation Camp. Across five jam-packed weeks, students built rockets and gliders, trained in flight simulators, and even experienced a live Blue Angels practice—all while diving into STEM topics in a fun and engaging environment.

“Many who pursue careers in aviation can trace their inspiration back to a single pivotal moment when they were young,” said Dianna Hayden, Director of Education. “FAD Summer Camp provides many opportunities for those pivotal moments during the course of a week—moments that can change a child’s future and make their dreams take flight.”

From building radio antennas to launching model rockets, our campers learned by doing—and had a blast doing it. We’re incredibly proud of our campers, volunteers, and staff who helped make this season such a success.

📅 Mark your calendars! Summer 2026 registration opens early next year. Spots fill quickly—don’t miss your chance to give your child a summer of inspiration, exploration, and discovery!
