At FAD Summer Camp, kids get to be more than just campers—they become explorers, creators, and future aviators! Our STEM-focused activities help children understand the science of flight and space, all while learning about the incredible history of naval aviation. Led by certified teachers and Naval Officers, these camps provide a fun and safe environment for kids to grow their curiosity and confidence.

What Your Child Will Experience:

  1. Build and launch rockets—watch their excitement as they see their creations take flight!
  2. Explore aircraft and tour the museum to learn about aviation history.
  3. Fly flight simulators—your child will get the chance to fly F-35 jets in state-of-the-art simulations.

Camp Options

FAD Summer Camp (For Rising 4th–6th Graders)

The main FAD Summer Camp offers a week-long immersive experience where kids will:

  1. Learn the science of flight and how aircraft work.
  2. Participate in daily flight simulator training with F-35 simulations.
  3. Build gliders, rockets, and parachutes to understand flight physics.
  4. Explore the National Flight Academy and get a close look at real aircraft.

Camp Dates:

June 9 – 13

June 23 – 27

July 7 – 11

Ages: Rising 4th through 6th graders


Scout Merit Badge Camp (Ages 11–17)

If your child is a Boy Scout or Girl Scout, this special camp offers the chance to earn three merit badgesAviationSpace Exploration, and Radio. Scouts will build and launch model rockets, fly flight simulators, and create radio antennas—all with guidance from Naval Officers and registered merit badge counselors.

Camp Dates: July 14 – 18, 2025
Ages: Scouts aged 11-17


Space Exploration Camp (For Rising 5th–7th Graders)

For the young astronaut at heart, the Space Exploration Camp is a must! Campers will:

  1. Explore the history and science of space flight.
  2. Build rockets and learn the science behind space travel.
  3. Create a scale model of the solar system—a hands-on project that’s as fun as it is educational.

Camp Dates: July 21 – 25, 2025
Ages: Rising 5th through 7th graders


Why You Should Register Early

Spaces are limited—with only 35 campers allowed per session, these camps fill up quickly! By signing up today, you ensure your child has the chance to experience all that our aviation-themed STEM camps have to offer. Each session is packed with educational fun and memories that will last a lifetime. Campers will receive a Flight Adventure Deck T-shirtlanyardlog book, and all the materials they need for their hands-on activities.

Camp Fees:

  1. $200 per camper, per session
  2. Military families receive a $25 discount ($175 per camper)

Please note: Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp, and campers should bring a packed lunch and snacks daily.

  1. Backpacks and large bags are not allowed in the museum (exceptions for small diaper bags, purses, fanny packs, and medicine bags).
  2. All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff or NAS Base Security.
